You’ll Need:

600 g Chicken Thighs (Skinless and Boneless) 

125 ml Light Soy Sauce 

125 ml Mirin 

4 tbsp Caster Sugar 

1 Garlic Clove (Squashed/Minced) 

Cooked Rice (To Serve, Discretionary) 

Toasted Sesame Seeds (To Serve, Discretionary) 

Cut Spring Onion (To Serve, Discretionary) 

Basic Hardware 

3.5 liter Moderate Cooker 

Wide Griddle or Pan

How to Make:


  1. Spot the chicken thighs into the moderate cooker. 
  2. Combine the light soy sauce, mirin, caster sugar and squashed garlic in a container with a fork. Pour this over the chicken. 
  3. Cook on low for 4 hours OR high for 2 hours. 
  4. Whenever cooked, pass the teriyaki sauce through a sifter into a wide griddle and convey to the bubble. Keep on bubbling, mixing regularly, for approx 15 mins until thicker and somewhat sticky. 
  5. In the mean time, shred the chicken. You can either utilize a substantial bowl and two forks OR you can put everything into a stand blender and beat on moderate for 10-20 secs. 
  6. Blend the sauce and destroyed chicken together well, at that point serve over rice. Disperse with sesame seeds and cut spring onion.
