  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
Meat Sauce
  • 1 TBSP olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 6 cloves garlic, finely minced (I used a garlic press)
  • ½ tsp red pepper (optional, adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pound Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage, casings removed
  • 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
